Vall de LLémena

The Llémena Valley stretches from the Parc Natural de la Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa in the west to the city of Girona in the east. As you travel down along the Riera de Llémena, the climate changes from continental to Mediterranean and so does the vegetation. Upstream you find various oaks, while downstream pine trees and the typical aromatic herbs are dominant.

The Riera de Llémena has suffered from climate change and industrailiaztion in parts of the valley though. In 2022 it has run dry in many parts, but has since recovered after two years of good rain. You can enjoy waterfalls and rock pools.
